It Gets Hot in Africa!

East African Inspired Hot Sauce

A clean, punchy habanero heat rounded out by garlic and coriander, with a mellow sweetness from cane vinegar and brown sugar keeping it balanced rather than sharp.

Jungle Sauce started the way most of our family's best recipes do: in a kitchen, with too many chillies and no real plan.

It's built on the flavours the founder first fell for on the Swahili Coast, where he met his wife Janet — habanero heat, plenty of garlic, and coriander doing double duty as leaf and seed. Years of cooking together, and a growing family, turned it from a kitchen habit into the first sauce we felt was ready to share.

It's the sauce we reach for on everything — eggs in the morning, whatever's on the grill, a spoonful stirred into a pot of stew. Jungle Sauce is where Mama Amaya's began, and it's still the one that tastes most like home.

Serving Suggestions

The everyday table sauce
A splash on eggs, rice, or whatever you're already eating — it's built to go with everything.
Grilled meats
Brush it on partway through grilling, or serve it on the side for dipping.
Stirred into stews
A spoonful deepens a slow-cooked stew or curry without taking it over.
